PAUL POGBA

Paul Pogba is a highly-promising young French midfielder who possesses a broad range of qualities required to dominate the midfield.

He is powerful, skilful, creative, has stamina, vision to pick out key passes, an eye for goal and a penchant for the spectacular.
Pogba joined the Reds from his previous club, French Ligue 2 outfit Le Havre, in a much-commented-on move, completing his transfer on 6 October 2009.
He made his debut for United's Under-18s in a 2-1 defeat to Crewe Alexandra at Gresty Road on 10 October 2009. Although on the losing side, it was an eye-catching first
outing in a Reds shirt, and his performances have only improved since then. In 19 starts for the U18s, he scored seven goals in his first season.
The teenager hails from Lagny Sur Marne on the outskirts of Paris and has been a regular for France at various levels of youth international football.
In February 2011, he was handed the no.42 shirt ahead of United's FA Cup clash against Crawley Town as a reward for some mature displays for the reserves and academy team.
Although not getting off the bench, it was a tantalising glimpse of the big time for the leggy youngster who was a key figure in the
FA Youth Cup success. Stepping up to the plate at Stamford Bridge, he produced a masterclass performance against Chelsea in the semi-finals and netted a rare header to get United back into the tie.

United 8 - Arsenal 2 : Legends Are Born.

The game was decided before it was played, yet the result was beyond prediction. Arsenal, whom midfield became unarmed due to the transfer of its top midfield players Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona and Samir Nasri to Manchester City. Arsenal was simply bombed. Arsen Wenger was to be blamed by the fans because he simply didn't have any good back up players. Should he be blamed ? Well, he needs to fix his squad. Sir Alex released some of the pressure of the Arsenal Manager before the match because he was receiving too many bad critics.

The match kicked off and was simply rocked by the goals it included. Danny Welbeck opened it for United during the 23rd minute with a stunning header after being given a great cross by Wayne Rooney. Danny Welbeck was substituted after the goal due to a hamstring injury. Chicharito came on for him yet didn't score any goal. Arsenal where given a penalty in only a few minutes from the opener. Johnny Evans pulled Theo Wallcot and was given a yellow card. As the penalty was struck by Robin Van Persie, David De Gea made a wonderful save and gained a huge self confidence. De Gea also made some great saves after saving the penalty. After 2 minutes from the penalty, Ashley Young scored one of most spectacular goals ever. He came from the side, looked for some space, and struck the ball from outside the penalty box, and finally, had the ball coming inside the corner of the goal making it difficult for any goal keeper to save. After that, United where given a free kick during the 41st minute. Rooney lined it up, and scored his first free kick goal of the season wonderfully. The first half ended from a goal by Theo Wallcot to make it 3 - 1 for Arsenal.

The second half was even better for United, yet terrible for Arsenal. Wayne Rooney started the fiesta of goals with another spectacular free kick during the 64th minute, while Nani made it 5 - 1 for United during the 67th minute after scoring a super lobbed goal. Nani was substituted by Park Ji Sung who came on to make it 6 - 1 for United during the 70th minute. Park's goal was beautifully struck and well aimed. Although Robin Van Persie was able to score another goal for Arsenal yet, it was nothing but a conciliation goal since Rooney received his hatrick during the 81st minute from a well struck penalty. Ashley Young simply wrapped it up for United during the 91st minute and in extra time after having scored another curved shot that flew directly into the corner of the goal again. United played one of the most fantastic games ever tonight having scored 8 goals in a 10 goal game. It was super for United, lets hope the season is ours again this years. Good luck reds, and hard luck for Arsenal who will badly look back and learn from today's match.

Manchester United 3 - Manchester City 2 : F.A Community Shield goes to United

The barclays premier league season always has a tradition. The top two teams go for a charity match made by the F.A community called the Community Shield. Manchester United were to face Manchester City who seemed to be strong and prepared due to the big names they were purchasing chose as Sergio Aguero,

United simply owned the match yet had some defense trouble during the first half. Manchester City were able to score 2 goals during the first half. David Gea who is strong, yet under pressure since alot is asked from him, failed during the first half, yet was able to make it and prove himself after all. The second half was very dramatic and simply amazing for United. Sir Alex made a drastic switch by taking off the 2 main defenders ( Vidic and Ferdinand) and replacing them by Jones and Evans. Jones made his appearance alongside with Ashley Young and David Gea as United's new players. Tom Cleverly came in for Michael Carrick and put on a good match. Chris Smalling opened the match for United during the 52nd minute and in only 6 minutes, the equalizer was wonderfully put by Louis Nani. Wayne Rooney had some great free-kicks, and so did Nani. Since this game is a charity match, each team has the amount of 6 substitutes. Rafael joined the match later on for Evra and got to hold the captain badge. During the last 15 minutes of the match where everything seemed great for United due to the attacks they were having, and when everyone though that the match is going to penalties, Nani simply did it !

In the third minute of the 90th and in extra time, Nani made a jump on Kolarov clearance and got the deflection to his side. Nani made a run from center field to Heart's goal and beautifully got passed him and finally scoring the winning goal for United. The match was over and United were crowned their 19th F.A Community Shield title.

The season is off, and its looking good for United hopefully.

2010/2011 Manchester United Season Review

Manchester United once again won another Barclays title, yet this time it was different. It was the 19th title !

One of the forgotten things of the season was the fact that United went 24 games, nearly seven months without a defeat, something that certainly contributed to them winning this season's title, but it also underlined the club's never-say-die attitude. Throughout this season, United were either faced with depths of a defeat or draw, but, time and time again, they rose above to get a positive result. This, in itself, is what made this season so special, but yet at the same time, so frustrating that they even were in the position to begin with.

Everyone thought that the season began in the best possible way with the Reds winning the FA Community Shield over Chelsea and kicking off the Premier League season with an emphatic result against Newcastle at Old Trafford.

The Reds have always been known as the ones scoring late goals, however, they were ones that were subjected to this sinking feeling quite a few times this season, especially at the beginning. However, it took United until the middle of October to finally secure three points from their rivals.

Javier Hernandez has gone from a virtually unknown prodigy to a welcomed goal scoring machine since he arrived from Mexico. It a foreign environment, a very physical league nobody thought that the 22-year stood a chance of making an instant impact, but Chicharito made a name for himself by scoring priceless after priceless goals for United. 20 goals in his first season from the young kid with a captivating smile is more than anyone could have asked or wanted from him, but now with experience and understanding Hernandez should be scoring that amount every season.

Many think that Hernandez scored the most goals for United this season, but that feat belong to none other than one of the most respectable, but dynamic players to play for United in the last couple of years. Dimitar Berbatov doubled the amount of goals that he scored in the two previous by notching 21 this season - taking the Barclays Premier League's Golden Boot Award. Up until this season, the Bulgarian center forward never lived up to the pressure of having the most expensive transfer fee every splashed out for a player, but he scored a hat-trick of hat-tricks - including five in one game this year. However, what Dimitar will be forever remembered for is not for his silky touch or moments of genius, but for being the first United player in the modern day to register a treble of goals against Liverpool.

The 2010/11 season will be commemorated for United surpassing their so-called great rival by winning their record 19th top-flight title, but it will also be reminisced as the swan song for three of the world's greatest players at their respective positions.

Gary Neville, Paul Scholes and Edwin van der Sar all called it a day on their honorable careers, and the supporters will be forever grateful for that they were able to call these players one of their own. Neville was the first to bow after he admirably admitted that he was unable to carry on at the game's highest level as he retired before the season came to a close, which saw him miss out on his ninth Premier League medal. van der Sar came to the conclusion that he was not going to play another season in December, but there were definitely times in the tail end of the season that the big goalkeeper thought twice of playing another season. Finally, Scholes sadly announced his retirement just days after the season came to an end, and even though his last game ended on a sour note, the midfielder received massive amounts of plaudits and respect from some of the game's biggest names for his contributions and ability to the sport.

Everyone, even rival supporters, know that Manchester United never fail to thrill or impress, so by admitting that, 2010/11 can just be seen as yet another successful season for the club.
